Ebony Venson
Ebony Venson is the Program Associate on the Thriving Communities team.
Originally from Hartsville, S.C., Ebony received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the College of Charleston in 2018 and dedicated her time on campus to helping recruit, retain, and empower students of color. Fueled by her desire to learn more about public leadership and policy, she enrolled in the University of Charleston’s Master of Public Administration program. As an MPA student, she centered her work and studies around strategic planning, city and county management, and nonprofit development. After graduating from the MPA program, she worked as a Lead for America fellow with the City of Chattanooga, helping expand economic mobility opportunities in communities of color. Outside of the 9-5, Ebony serves as a member of the College of Charleston’s Alumni Board and spends her time hiking, singing, and exploring local art museums.
