New resources for communities interested in applying for free technical assistance

Smart Growth America is currently accepting applications for our 2012 free technical assistance. Two webinars will help communities interested in applying for this free resource.

On Friday, Smart Growth America, Project for Public Spaces, Forterra, and Global Green participated in a webinar to discuss free technical assistance currently being offered by each organization. Hosted by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Building Blocks for Sustainable Communities program, the webinar gave a brief overview of the workshops offered, application process and timeline for each organization’s program.

Smart Growth America will be hosting a second workshop about our free technical assistance and the application process. Join us on Thursday, September 27, 2012 from 2:00-3:30 PM EDT. This webinar is free but registration is required: click here to register.

The webinar will provide a comprehensive overview of the application process and requirements. Consultants who lead specific workshops will also join us on the call to discuss their workshop and smart growth tool in greater depth. This webinar will give applicants a chance to ask questions and learn more about our free technical assistance. To learn more about the workshops and assistance awarded as part of last year’s program, visit our Past Workshops page

Smart Growth America’s technical assistance is made possible by a grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Office of Sustainable Communities under the Building Blocks for Sustainable Communities Program. The Building Blocks program funds quick, targeted assistance to communities that face common development problems. Three other nonprofit organizations — Forterra, Global Green USA and Project for Public Spaces — also received competitively awarded grants under this program this year to help communities get the kinds of development they want.
