2013 LOCUS Leadership Awards given to Senator Mary Landrieu, HRI Properties

Louisiana took center stage last night in Washington as LOCUS honored two smart growth champions from the Bayou State with the 2013 LOCUS Leadership Awards.

Senator Mary Landrieu has been a steadfast supporter of smart growth throughout her time in Congress. In particular, she has been a champion of the Partnership for Sustainable Communities, which is helping communities across Louisiana build in economically resilient ways. This year’s award honors Senator Landrieu’s advocacy for Louisiana neighborhoods and leadership in the Senate.

HRI Properties, a Baton Rouge-based development company and member of LOCUS, was also honored. HRI’s work on the Hibernia Project in New Orleans, the King Edward hotel in downtown Jackson and many other projects has set a high bar smart growth real estate developers across the country. This year’s award celebrates HRI’s excellent achievements. Hal Fairbanks, Vice President of Acquisitions for HRI, accepted the award.

We’re proud to work with these leaders in their field. Congratulations again to this year’s winners.
