Justin Franklin Thornton
Justin “Franklin” Thornton is the Senior Associate for SGA’s Land Use and Development team. In this role, he is excited to uplift land use practices that produce equitable outcomes.
Franklin joined the Land Use and Development team after working on Capitol Hill on the House Committee on Financial Services where he served as the Committee Clerk and transitioned to become a policy staffer on the Housing and Insurance Subcommittee.
Franklin has always been interested in the impact that local government has on the built environment and the surrounding community. Working on several community park cleanups in college and other community projects, his interest in the built environment was fostered and realized. Franklin graduated from Oakwood University with a degree in Political Science and is currently finishing his master’s in Urban & Regional Planning at Georgetown University.
