Did your community miss the chance to apply for one of our 2015 free workshops? Now, Project for Public Spaces (PPS) is offering another opportunity to bring in the smart growth experts. PPS is accepting technical assistance applications as part of the same EPA program—Building Blocks for Sustainable Communities—that funds Smart Growth America’s workshops.
PPS and their partners at Livability Solutions, which include leading national experts in creating sustainable communities, will lead one- and two-day targeted workshops in communities around the country. Communities will learn how to use one of PPS’s tools or workshop approaches, such as walkability audits, green infrastructure valuation guides, shared use agreements, and community image surveys, that can help achieve goals of enhancing livability, creating lasting economic and environmental improvements, and improving residents’ public and social health. Eight to ten communities will be selected to receive technical assistance this year. Applications are due January 9, 2015.
