As the adage goes, April showers bring…Congress home for spring break!
Spring break is a great time to meet with your Senators or Representative in your community and ask them to support the Safe Streets Act (S. 2004/H.R. 2468), which encourages communities to consider safety improvements for all users in transportation project planning.
Not sure where to start? Look up your Senators or Representative. Then, consult the National Complete Streets Coalition’s in-district meeting guide for tips on connecting with their offices, inviting others to the meeting, discussion topics, and how to “make the ask” to sign-on to the Safe Streets Act.
Don’t forget to thank your Senator and Representative with an email or letter, and let the Coalition know about your meeting using our online form.
Headed on spring break, too? Send your Senator or Representative an e-postcard, or a submit a letter to the editor of your local paper, using our templates to get you started.
Get to it! Your Senators and Representative will be in their home districts from April 14 through April 25.
