In the 2021 Dangerous by Design webinar, Smart Growth America’s Beth Osborne and report author Rayla Bellis explored the report’s finding and rankings, and offered solutions to make streets safer for people walking and biking.
We also heard presentations and stories from:
- Ken Rose with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention;
- Latanya Byrd, who shared a personal, heartbreaking story of loss in our media briefing;
- and local advocates Dr. Scott Crawford and Gladys Bunzy from Jackson, MS, who provided a ground-level view of the conditions for people walking, rolling, and using assistive devices to get around in Mississippi’s capital city—which is ranked #7 most dangerous this year.
