Welcoming three new LOCUS Steering Committee members

LOCUS, SGA’s coalition of real estate developers and investors who advocate for walkable, attainable housing near transit, is excited to announce the addition of three new Steering Committee members! Over the years, LOCUS has achieved many important milestones such as the introduction of the REHAB Act, the publication of the Great Real Estate Reset, and foundational work in Opportunity Zones. These successes are due in large part to the expertise and leadership of our Steering Committee.

Our new members bring unique perspectives on affordable housing, financing, and equitable real estate development and we look forward to working with them to enhance LOCUS’ advocacy agenda and strategy going forward. Welcome to LOCUS, Alecia, Efren, and Glenn!

Meet our new LOCUS leaders:

Efren Carrillo is the Vice President of Residential Development for Burbank Housing, a non-profit affordable housing developer working in the Sonoma County and the North Bay areas of California. In his role, Efren oversees the Housing Development Department and Burbank’s regulatory, legislative and political efforts. He has also served on the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors, the Sonoma County Economic Development, and the Sonoma County Business Environmental Alliance.

Alecia Hill joined the LOCUS Leadership Circle and Steering Committee from FCP, a privately held real estate investment firm based in the Washington, D.C. area. Alecia is responsible for expanding FCP’s Impact Investment housing platform and advancing ESG initiatives. She specializes in affordable housing and community development finance and works closely with FCP’s Acquisitions and Asset Management teams. She also comes to LOCUS with significant experience working with Opportunity Zones, as a former Impact Investing and Innovation team member at Enterprise Community Partners.

Glenn Wilson joined the LOCUS Leadership Circle and Steering Committee. He co-founded and is currently the President and CEO of Communities First, Inc, a nonprofit community development corporation in Flint, Michigan. Communities First Inc. has led affordable housing, economic development, and sustainability projects in Michigan and the Midwest, serving over 35,000 people yearly. Glenn also currently advises corporations, banks, and foundations and brings experience in leadership development, board service, and community development.
