Do you know of an organization or project that’s using better development strategies to make your community a great place to live? If you do, consider nominating it for the 2013 National Awards for Smart Growth Achievement from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

These prestigious annual awards honor projects and policies that use smart growth strategies to improve communities environmentally, socially, and economically. Past winners include some of the most innovative development projects in the country, and a project in your community could be next.

Nominate a project in your community today. If you know of a great development project that deserves national recognition, click here to send them an invitation to apply. Nominated projects will receive information about submitting an application for the awards.

Public agencies, private companies and non-profit organizations may apply directly for the awards on the EPA website. More information about eligibility and the official application form are available there.

Award winners will be featured in a short video documentary about their project, and honored at an awards ceremony in Washington DC in December 2013.

Communities all over the United States are using smart growth strategies to protect the environment and strengthen their economies and the EPA’s National Awards for Smart Growth Achievement honor projects that are leading the way.
