In the next few days, Congress will set priorities for millions of dollars of funding for federal programs—including programs that support better neighborhood development.

This funding could helps towns across the country revitalize Main Streets, redevelop historic buildings, rebuild on abandoned land and more. But only if Congress hears from supporters like you.

Congress needs to hear your support for this work. Send a letter to your members today.

Two programs in particular are up for consideration.

HUD’s Integrated Planning and Investment grants, which support planning efforts to expand job opportunities and improve the quality of life for families, and EPA’s Smart Growth Program, which provides tailored technical assistance to help communities grow their economies, protect the environment and public health, and improve their existing infrastructure.

Six members of Congress are working to make sure these programs are a priority in next year’s budget. Senators Mary Landrieu (D-LA), Robert Menendez (D-NJ) and Brian Schatz (D-HI), as well as Representatives Emanuel Cleaver, II (D-MO), Ed Perlmutter (D-CO) and Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) are circulating letters expressing their support of full funding for the programs at HUD and EPA.

Ask your members of Congress to sign on with their support. Send a letter to your members today.
