Back in May we announced that our close ally and coalition partner the National Complete Streets Coalition was to become an official program of Smart Growth America. The new web home has all the same great resources for Complete Streets advocates and practitioners. Learn about what makes a Complete Street, discover how local leaders are changing policy across the country, find out about bringing the Coalition to your town or city, and see other ways you can get involved.
Started in 2006, the National Complete Streets Coalition seeks to fundamentally transform the look, feel, and function of the roads and streets in America’s community by changing the way roads are planned, designed, and constructed. Complete Streets policies direct transportation planners and engineers to consistently design with all users in mind. Complete Streets policies are now in place in 26 states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia, and in more than 350 local jurisdictions in the U.S. We welcome you to join us in achieving this goal.
