Transportation is a vital component of our neighborhoods and towns, providing access between home, work, school, groceries, family, and friends. Ensuring that we can travel safely on these streets, regardless of how we travel, our age, or our ability, is a central goal of the Complete Streets movement.
Tomorrow, April 6, at 2:00 pm Eastern Daylight Time, the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), a Coalition partner, invites you to join a webinar on how states and communities are pursuing and implementing Complete Streets policies so that residents have safe transportation choices.
I’ll kick things off with a brief overview of Complete Streets policies, how they bolster a neighborhood’s vision for a high quality of life, and why they are important at the state level. Participants will also get a sneak peak the new tools the Coalition is developing to help communities write and implement strong policies.
I’m joined by two experts who can provide concrete examples of how Complete Streets is working on the state and local levels:
- Ethan Fawley, Fresh Energy‘s Transportation Policy Director and the coordinator of the Minnesota Complete Streets Coalition, and
- Mimi Stender, Director of Advocacy and Outreach for Fit City Duluth
Julie Seward, LISC’s Director of State Policy, will moderate the panel. We’ll also have time to take questions and hear ideas from those who join us.
