Transit systems are adjusting to shifts in funding and rider preferences, as well as how the built environment will support workers, travelers, and communities during the COVID-19 pandemic. LOCUS President Jair Lynch and other panelists summarized how local communities can utilize federal resources to advance equitable transit-oriented development and how towns can plan for new transit and mobility infrastructure. From the discussion, accessibility, income disparities, and rider experience arose as important factors that guide future transit planning.
