The National Complete Streets Coalition is excited to announce the return of our monthly webinar series, designed to help professionals from a variety of disciplines put Complete Streets into action. Implementation & Equity 201: The Path Forward to Complete Streets is exploring a new issue each month related to creating safer, healthier, more equitable streets.

Our next webinar, Impact of Emerging Technologies on Complete Streets takes place on Tuesday, September 12th from 1:00-2:00 PM EDT. Co-hosts Stantec and Transportation for America’s Smart Cities Collaborative will join the Coalition in answering questions such as: How will emerging technologies such as connected and autonomous vehicles change the way we design and use our streets? And what are cities doing today to prepare for these innovations?

Amazing Place series: Akron, OH rediscovers its full potential

Over the last few years, Akron has adopted several initiatives to improve public spaces, encourage private investment, and attract new talent to the area. With help from the Knight Foundation, Akron is activating its canal trails, creating a long-range strategy for development, and finding dynamic and creative ways to engage its diverse community members.

Announcing the winners of the Safe Streets Academy


Scores of cities are eager to build safer streets for all of their residents, but many also quickly discover the plethora of barriers that make it difficult to change years of practice. Our new Safe Streets Academy, announced today, is bringing together three jurisdictions in a collaborative environment to explore how to overcome those barriers and develop strategies for improving safety for all users of the street.
